Salman Khan Is A Nurse?
Bollywood hunk Salman Khan turned nurse for Asin who fell ill while shooting for their upcoming film 'Ready'.
The actor who is reuniting with the Southern beauty after their 2009 film 'London Dreams' made sure that she got plenty of rest and ate her medicines on the sets of the film.
"Salman was extremely caring right through the shoot of 'Ready' and especially when I was ill. I caught an infection and even as I continued to shoot, I was on constant medication. Salman made sure that I ate properly, " the actress said.
The 'Dabangg' star kept a constant tab on his leading lady, who was down with an infection during the last days of the film's shoot. Asin's mother, who is a doctor, prescribed her medicine and it was Salman who made sure that she ate them on time.
"In a hectic day of shooting, one tends to forget taking medicines but he was always there to remind me of taking them on time. He forever kept checking that my fever was under control. That was so nice of him, " said the 25-year-old actress.
The actress who debuted in Bollywood opposite Aamir Khan in the 2008 hit 'Ghajini' said that Salman, 45, is a really "cool" co- star. The two stars had been linked in gossip columns while they were shooting 'London Dreams' and after his reported break-up from Katrina Kaif, the stories are circulating again.
"I am fond of Salman. Since we are working together in 'Ready' again, we spend a lot of time together. I understand the value and importance of a comfortable professional relationship and am well aware of how people perceive coming together of two actors, " said the actress.

Asin Is Dating With Mahendra Singh Dhoni
Bollywood belles and sportsmen have been a great combination since the days of Tiger Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore. Since then we have seen several liasions, some for keeps, others for a shorter duration.
Azharuddin-Sangeeta Bijlani, or the more recent Deepika Padukone and Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra!
But apparently the latest duo on celluloid is Southern beauty, Asin, and Indian cricket captain, MS Dhoni. Dhoni was spotted at Asin's apartment to watch the first IPL semi-final between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians.
Dhoni arrived at Asin's Lokhandwala home before the match. His presence created a buzz in the locality and a crowd gathered on the premises. Dhoni stayed till the end of the match and made a quiet exit.
The grapevine is abuzz with speculation about the two good-looking youngsters. They met and bonded as brand ambassadors of Big Bazaar.
Our reporter was told that they enjoy each other's company and often hang out together! Asin also made an appearance at Dhoni's birthday celebrations last year!
Asin has been linked to fellow actors John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh in the recent past. John and she are reportedly slated to do Vipul Shah's remake of Kaakha Kaakha.
The two stars bonded over their passion for racing bikes. John even invited her to his home to show off his enviable collection of mean machines! Asin was also spotted enjoying a cosy dinner with Neil! Sure looks like Asin's on a roll.
Asin Will Be Star Of James Cameron`s Next Film
The sizzling 24-year-old actress from south thinks that everyone in Bollywood is a 'commodity' who can be replaced by another at a moment's notice. And therefore there is the need for constant compromise.
Asin Thottumkal was speaking in the Youth Forum of the India Today Conclave 2010 here today on the topic 'Change: Idealism vs Reality' was at her candid best and said that values and integrity are compromised on a daily basis in the film industry.
Asin who was already a superstar in South Indian cinema when she debuted in Bollywood opposite superstar Aamir Khan in the 2008 blockbuster 'Ghajini' said that the only way to put the "soul" back into the industry was to stand up and say no to sub-standard products and practices.
"There can be many repercussions if you say no. As an actor it cam mean less endorsements, less visibility and less industry friends. But saying no to mediocre products is the only way to put the soul back into the industry," said Asin.
The actress who has not signed on any new projects after her second film 'London Dreams' starring Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan flopped at the box office said that she has always been choosy about her projects.
"There is a lot of pressure on me to sign movies. But one should believe in what one wants to do and it works for me," said Asin who shared the dias with actor Ranbeer Kapoor at the event.
James Cameron, who was also present at the The India Today Conclave 2010 later met her over the dinner and discussed cinema with her. Cameron confirmed to Asin that he is ready to make a film with Indian actors and the two even discussed the possibilities of collaborating on his film.
Talking about her experience she told a leading daily, “It was an experience of a lifetime for me to meet ‘the’ James Cameron. We spoke about cinema, both Hollywood and Bollywood. I was really fascinated that he knew so much about our industry. Though he has delivered two of the greatest films in history, I was surprised to see how modest he was.”
When asked about James’ plan of collaborating with Indian stars, Asin added, “I asked him if he was ready to make an Indian film and he said ‘certainly’. He also revealed that he was looking to take Indian actors in the movies he makes in future. But it is too premature to talk about anything because nothing has been confirmed from his side.”

The star, who made a splash in Bollywood film industry with the blockbuster 'Ghajini' started painting from the childhood and even had her first exhibition at the tender age of 7.

Asin Thottumkal
In 2004 Asin Thottumkal was shooting for the Telugu film ‘Gharshana’ at a lake in Nuwara Eliya, a popular hill station in Sri Lanka. Shooting was proceeding on two boats.
When pack-up time was announced, Asin was sitting in one corner of the boat and she suddenly saw water pouring in. “I am thinking, ‘Hey, this is slightly odd but maybe it is no big deal ’,” she says.
The next moment Asin, who does not know swimming, found herself in the water, along with 17 other people, as the boat sank. The lake has a depth of 60 feet. “It was a Titanic moment,” she says. “I remember an assistant director shouting, ‘Somebody please save Asin.’” As Asin sank she held her nerve, flailed her arms and legs and managed to come up for breath. It was when she sputtered for breath for the third time that she began to feel traumatised. “I felt I had reached the limit,” she says. “Suddenly I felt a tug. Somebody was pulling my shirt collar.” The person dragged Asin towards the back of the upturned boat. Asin clambered on and when she looked back, she was surprised to see that it was her own father who had rescued her. “He is a good swimmer,” she says. “When he saw me go under, he jumped in.
Thanks to him, I have a second life.” And, thankfully, everybody else was also saved, most with only minor injuries. Cameraman Raj Shekhar was not so lucky. In a bid to save Asin, he jumped in and his shirt was caught on a nail on the boat. He lost balance and, later, consciousness and remained under water for a few minutes before he was rescued. “Even now he suffers from a back ailment,” says Asin.
At the restaurant at Alappuzha’s Punnamada Backwater Resort, Asin laughs easily. She is intelligent and articulate, and at 8 pm she does not give an impression of tiredness even though she had been awake since 3 am shooting a commercial for Tanishq Jewellery, for whom Asin is the brand ambassador.
Sitting next to her is Alpana Parida, Head-Marketing & Merchandising, Tanishq. “Asin is like a flower,” she says. “She conveys absolute freshness.
This became one of the big hits of 2004.
The good run in Tamil continued in 2005 when she starred in of the biggest hits, ‘Ghajini’, with Surya. When ‘Ghajini’ was released Asin went to Satyam cinema in Chennai on the first day to see the first show with the audience. “It was very exciting,” she says. “Instead of watching the film, I observed the reactions of the audience. The audience laughed wherever they had to laugh and cried at the right places. It was then I was able to understand what worked for me and what didn’t.” In 2006 Asin got a chance to star opposite Kamal Haasan in ‘Dasavathaaram’ where the star played ten roles. So what is the singular impression that she has of Kamala Haasan? “It is his passion for cinema,” she says. “He is so knowledgeable about all aspects of filming. What I learned from him is how to have the intensity to go on and on. Look how much he has achieved. And he is pushing the limits all the time.” Now Asin has moved to Bollywood and has just bought a flat in the upmarket Bandra area. Three films will be released soon: the Hindi remake of ‘Ghajini’, with Aamir Khan, a film produced by Walt Disney called the ‘19th Step’ and ‘London Dreams’ whose hero is the controversial Salman Khan.
“I found Salman simple and down-to-earth,” she says.
“He speaks straight from the heart and that may have caused a negative perception to arise about him in the media.” For ‘London Dreams’ Asin was reportedly paid a fee of Rs 1.5 crore.
Not bad for a 23-year-old from Kochi with an unusual name. So what does Asin mean? “It means purity,” she says
