Neetu Chandra & Veena Malik's Fighting
The news comes as a shocker, especially after the cricket match-fixing controversy, wherein Veena Malik unceremoniously dragged Neetu Chandra's name, stating that the Bollywood actress had direct links with her ex-boyfriend and Pakistani bowler Mohammad Asif as well as with the 'spot-fixing' scandal.
Now, the battle lines seem to be drawn. Veena Malik has already been reported to feature in 'Bigg Boss'. If Neetu indeed joins her in the reality show, there could be major catfights, news spills and more shocking drama about the humongous cricket scandal which has already rocked the world.
When asked about her appearance in 'Bigg Boss', Neetu's publicist Dale Bhagwagar said, “I have also been hearing the buzz, but am yet to confirm with Neetu. I haven't spoken to her, as I'm aware that she is in rehearsals today and her phone would be on silent mode. I'm not sure if Neetu would agree to be in 'Bigg Boss' even if the monies are huge.”
Wouldn't the reality show be a good opportunity for Neetu to confront Veena Malik and her allegations head on, and clear her name from the match fixing scandal?
“Veena Malik is a good comedian. She is a good actress. But I doubt if Neetu Chandra needs a reality show to defend herself. If I know her well, she'd rather keep her grace, poise and dignity intact, than spend her time and energies on Veena Malik's baseless allegations, ” said the PR specialist.
Meanwhile, after being in national and international headlines from over a week, Neetu Chandra has suddenly emerged the new sought-after Bollywood actress. Her demand for feature films, stage shows and events has grown manifold.
As a trendsetting filmmaker commented, “Neetu has always been a good actress. She has had critical acclaim and two of her movies have won National Awards too. But after hitting the headlines with this international controversy, she is now a popular star in demand.
The issue has actually pushed her celebrity status a few notches higher. Neetu Chandra's equity has shot up at least by ten times now.”
Neetu Chandra Would Love To Do Song Like "Choli K Peecchy Kia Hai?"
"I am sure I can dance better than most other actresses in the film industry. But it's just that they get the chance to show their moves, " Neetu told on phone from her hometown Patna.
"Unfortunately, my choice of films has been such that they hardly have any scope for dancing numbers. But I have a long way to go and I am just waiting to get a spicy song.
"I would love to do a commercial dance number and move like Jennifer Lopez and Shakira. Their style is lovely. And any such change would be great fun for me, " she added.
The actress, who received rave reviews for her performances in National Award winning films like "Traffic Signal" and "Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!", learnt Kathak in school and is currently taking lessons in western dancing.
Neetu is a huge Madhuri Dixit fan and says she would love to dance on songs like "Choli ke peechhe".
"She was a class apart. The kind of music came in her days is no longer composed in the industry. Songs like 'Choli ke peechhe' and 'Dhak dhak karne lagaa' were amazing. I would have loved to perform on those numbers. I know I can never be Madhuri Dixit, but even if people say I'm 10 percent of her, I would feel my efforts have paid off, " she said.
Among the latest numbers, the 33-year-old says she she could have done a good job in songs like "Chhaliya Chhaliya" and "Happening", originally performed by Kareena Kapoor and Preity Zinta respectively.
Don't you fear being tagged as an item girl after featuring in an item song?
"I can never be tagged as an item girl because I have lost that opportunity. I never got a chance to dance. I hope filmmakers cast me for a dance number soon. All seven films that I have done have been performance based. There was no space for me to do any dance in them, " she said.
But Neetu will do an item nunber only if the script will demand so.
"All actresses - Aishwarya, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukerji - have all done item numbers. They can dance, but they did it only when the script required it. So I would love to do it when a script requires me to do it. I am not afraid of being put into an image of an item girl - because I keep breaking my own image with every film."
Her forthcoming projects are "Khusar Parsad Ke Bhoot", Anees Bazmee's "No Problem" and Barnali Shukla's "Kuch Love Jaisa". She also has a Tamil project in her kitty.
Neetu Chandra Nude For The Bathing Scene?
After her girl-on-girl raunchy photo shoot, Neetu Chandra is making headlines once again. This time, the hot babe is seen doing a bathing scene in Jagmohan Mundhra's The Apartment which is reminiscent of Smita Patil's 'bathing in the slums'.Talking about the daring scene Neetu says, "I went about it very professionally. Initially, I was nervous but later, after seeing the scene and the way it was shot, I am confident it will go down well.
They also showed me Tanushree's shower scene with Rohit in her lavish apartment and then there is my bathing scene in a run-down broken bathroom. I am sure there will be comparisons."
When asked about the comparison with Smita Patil's bathing scene in Chakra Neetu tells, "I knew that Smita Patil had done a similar bathing scene in Chakra. I have been compared to Smitaji since Traffic Signal but it's not fair to be compared to anyone. She was a legend. We all look up to her. If I can be even one per cent of what she was, my life is set.”
So, did she actually shed all her clothes to perform, as the picture suggests?
“Well it shows that I am nude but I don't want to comment beyond that. It can be a trick of the camera too. Do you think any actress would pose for a scene like this without wearing anything, ” she retorts.
Neetu, who was also in news with her proximity with director Jag Mundhra slams the gossipmongers and says, "Jag Mundhra is like a father figure to me. When my dad passed away recently, he was present with his wife Chandra to provide me moral support. And even now, when I feel down, he is always there to encourage me. How can anyone link me up with Jag?"
So, how does she explain Jag acting cosy and holding her hands at the Sadiyaan premiere?
“Can't a daughter hold her dad's hand when he needs her? Isn't it basic human nature to help someone in need, " she asks and adds, "He's an old man and all I did was help him.
This was not even a publicity stunt to promote Apartment. I treat Chandra like my mother and now, they link me up with her husband!”
Neetu Chandra - When Baba Calls, You Just Go
When it comes to religious sentiments, it’s a known saying that god calls his devotees himself. Neetu Chandra experienced when she decided impromptu to take a road trip to Shirdi.
"I think it was the way of God to call me to his place. Kehte hain ki jab Baba bulaate hai toh aapko jaana hi hota hai.
Same happened to me as well the moment I woke up on Wednesday. Never before had I felt such a strong urge to visit Shirdi but this was something else.
I couldn't think of anything else and just started getting ready for the quick trip, " says Neetu Chandra who was accompanied by her mother and brother.
Since 2010 is anyways turning out to be quite eventful for Neetu, she has now decided to pray for her professional success and personal happiness.
"I am going to thank Baba for all the good feedback that came my way for 'Rann'. I also have some major releases coming up so I am going to pray for them too. But above all, I am also going to fight with Baba for the success of my friends which is long due.
I have a couple of close friends who are not from the industry, are very talented and deserve all the success coming their way. However, it appears that Baba is just testing them out.
I am going to question him that why isn't he being considerate to them. If he doesn't do the needful after this trip of mine, I will make sure that I pack my bags all over again and visit him to get into a fight, " Neetu adds.
