Birth name: Saravanan Sivakumar Born: July 23, 1975 , Chennai, India . Father : Tamil actor Sivakumar Younger brother: actor Karthi younger sister: Brindha Wife: Actress Jyothika Saravanan on September 11, 2006.Daughter: Baby girl Diya on August 10, 2007 ( The name was choosen by her father Sivakumar ) Debut film: Nerrukku Ner (1997)
*Surya dubbed Abhishek Bachchan's role in the Tamil version of Guru.
*Suriya the brand ambassador for large brands like Himani Navratna Oil, Emami Fair & Handsome, Pepsi, TVS and Sunfeast Biscuits.
*Surya’s second blockbuster was Kaaka Kaaka, a movie about the life of a police officer. The film grossed almost Rs.100 million at the box office.
*Suriya set up a production company called Studio Green which distributed the movie in the Chennai district.
*Ghajini was one of the most sensational hits of 2005 the film was his third blockbuster and grossed over Rs.200 million at the box office.
