Vijay saves a Boy life: A Kavalan in real life too!
We've all seen Ilaiyathalapthy Vijay help the poor and the needy in films. But the star is a saviour in real life too!
Yes, Vijay has helped Yashwanth, a class five student from Srilala, a village in Andhra Pradesh. The lad was suffering from a serious kidney ailment and had to undergo surgery. Since the procedure was risky, many doctors and hospitals were apprehensive about admitting the boy.
So, the boy's parents approached choreographer Raghava Lawrence's charitable trust. Lawrence had brought the boy to Chennai and had managed to get him admitted in a city hospital. However, the cost of the surgery was Rs 1.5 lakh.
"I called up several friends from the film industry, but they were not in a position to help me immediately. Then, I approached Vijay," says Lawrence.
After hearing Lawrence's plea, Vijay generously bore all expenses for the operation, following which Yashwanth is doing well today. Looks like Vijay is a Kavalan in real life too!
