Bus strike by a section of employees of the Metropolitan Transport Corporation in Chennai has affected the normal public transportation. The section of the MTC employees had resorted to strike demanding action against the people who reportedly assaulted their colleagues near the city.

Only about 50% of the MTC fleet are now running in the city. According to MTC employees union spokesperson Rajendran, more employee will join the strike if proper action is not taken at the earliest by the authorities.
