Make Fun of Yourself, and Girls Will Love You! (But Why?)

We all knew that humour works well with the girls. But this new study by faculty of the University of New Mexico has got a little more specific and tells men exactly what kind of humour to employ with women, with the sole aim of seducing them (though they must not know that this is your goal, at any cost).

Women, it seems, are hugely turned on by a man who has the ability to make fun of himself. The more vicious a man is towards himself, the greater his chances of getting the desired girl to fall in love with him.

Why this works so well on women may be hard to explain scientifically. Freud might have hazarded some vague theory, if he was alive, but considering that he was not a woman, he might have got it all wrong from start to end anyway.

But there's more to the study. There's a sort of statutory warning attached in just the fine print that it deserves. Men who try out this theory are cautioned not to cross the line when it comes to stabbing themselves with the sarcastic knife. For, if they are not too careful, they might just divulge too much of their faults and get the girl turned off anyway.

This would be more dangerous than when they started, since once the girl knows of their faults, it's taken for granted that the rest of the world should know about it as well, soon enough.

And then there's the final warning. If you are not sure you can be funny at all (which means, more people in your career have laughed at you than with you), then stick to talking about the weather and books. At least she won't hate you for it.
